TEXTURE – Fall/Winter 2024
With TEXTURE, CLOSNEA presents a collection that is more than clothing – it is a manifesto on resurgence, community, and the search for a new sense of normal. At its core lies the principle of Resurgence: to rise, to break forward, to move on. Fashion here is not merely an aesthetic shell but a documentation of the present, a reflection on humanity and togetherness. “YOU IS US” – this phrase embodies the foundation of the collection. For CLOSNEA, fashion is a medium to connect people and to make visible the invisible patterns that shape our lives. A central theme is the question of normality. Who defines what is normal – and who has access to it? While earlier generations associated uniforms of architects, bankers, or designers with hierarchy and power, CLOSNEA reframes normality as freedom of choice. Everyone should have the option to appear “normal” – or to consciously move against it. Normality becomes a playground, not a rule. The textures of nature provide another guiding inspiration: structures that emerge randomly, chaotically, and unpredictably, yet create a special kind of harmony. This tension between order and disorder translates into fabrics, silhouettes, and patterns that celebrate the unplanned. Art history also flows into the collection. Conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner and his work with language and patterns inspire CLOSNEA’s textile experiments. It opens up questions: Who owns art? Who defines it? Which everyday objects – from paper planes to nails – can become art? In this way, fashion becomes a medium that recharges the ordinary and turns it into a poetic game. TEXTURE therefore stands between fashion and manifesto: a collection that reinterprets the familiar and asks questions instead of delivering simple answers. It merges craft and concept, function and experiment, individual and collective. With this collection, CLOSNEA once again demonstrates that clothing is far more than a product. It is a mirror of social structures, a tool of identity – and an expression of hope for a shared future.
